The Tamagawa Electric Railway (tram), precursor of the present-day Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line and Setagaya Line, was the first rail line to operate in Setagaya, and was affectionately known as “Tamaden,” a shortening of its Japanese name. This exhibition traces the activities of artists who worked in neighborhoods served by these lines, such as Sangenjaya and Sakura-shinmachi, and highlights collaboration and exchange among cultural figures in the area.
